April 4, 2013 (Springfield, Missouri) –Prime Inc. Owner and Founder Robert Low knows that small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises. His success in building a company from the ground up is part of the reason he was named one of the 2013 Best Truck Fleet Innovators of the Year.
Only a handful of professionals are honored with a Truck Fleet Innovation Award annually. Those recipients are described as leaders, who distinguish themselves by performance, passion for work, and commitment to the industry.
“Robert Low impressed us with the story of how he built up his company from a single truck, then had to build it up again after filing for bankruptcy, which led to his innovative independent contractor leasing and education programs,” said Deborah Lockridge, HDT Editor in Chief.
Low, who is also known for building awareness of driver health issues throughout the industry, was nominated by one of his contractors. It was the contractor’s insistence that prompted Lockridge to take a closer look. What she learned is what fueled his nomination for the award.
“Prime grew from humble beginnings to one of the nation’s largest truckload fleets because we believe in innovation. The members of our trucking family have tenacity and they have paved a lot of roads for the industry,” Low said. “This award is a great honor that I share with all of our employees and contractors.”
